Task Nº2

Answering the question about the main role that international business managers may play in the negotiation arena and the importance of developing cross cultural management skills. I will describe my opinion in the next paragraphs.

The globalization, work force diversity and ethics are challenges that a manager has to face in an organization. When he knows them and face them, in one or other way can achieve them, the negotiator can act internationally after knowing all the internal facts; it means that he develops many skills to demonstrate a sequence of behavior to attain (reach) a performance goal with other companies in the same level and also obtain more opportunities in other areas. This goal allows the company or the organization create a relationship, based on an excellent communication, with the organization itself and the client, giving identity to the product with the client and learning for other experiences to satisfy the market.

One of the main skills that an international business manager have to improve is the ability to study the market and the culture and the way his knowledge develop a strategy that let him attract people from different cultures and countries, and gives to those customers a high quality that exceed customers’ expectations, this goal could be reached showing to everyone the things that they know they have but in other words making it easy to understand or improving the necessity.

These strategies bring to the organization a competitive advantage in terms of problem solving, creativity, cost structure, physical structure and adapting to change.
The role of the negotiator is start with regular basis information and investigate the past and the possible changes from the culture and giving other perspective to solve the problems and get cross the intercultural barrear.

  1. nowadays international negotiators need more than a few years, in times of crisis they need to think "outside the box" to deliver this added value to the consumers, create long term relationships with them, and also profit for the shareholders. the analysis you made was really good, and organizational culture needs to encourage the creativity of their leaders in order to find solutions to crisis like the one we're passing by.

  2. i think that we also have to be aware of the different external and internal issues among cultures and countries, somethimes we perceived one thing, but most of the times is another, one example is the "guanxi" way of relationship with the chinese, we perceived as a must in negotiation, but nowdays this practices seems to be losing his powers as this article says
